Who has ascended up into heaven, and descended?
Who has gathered the wind in his fists?
Who has bound the waters in his garment?
Who has established all the ends of the earth?
What is his name, and what is his son’s name, if you know? Proverbs 30:4
Can you answer this question? Yes, what is the son's name? What would the Messiah, the anointed of Yahweh be called here on earth? Do we want to be saved from this wicked and untoward generation as Noah was saved in his time? What must I do to be saved is answered in Matthew 19:16-22
And behold, one came to him and said, Teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why do you ask me concerning that which is good? One there is who is good: but if thou would enter into life, keep the commandments. He said unto him, Which? And Yahshua said, You shall not kill, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor thy father and mother; and, You shall love thy neighbor as yourself. The young man said unto him, All these things have I observed: what lack I yet? Yahshua said unto him, If you would be perfect, go, sell that which you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. But when the young man heard the saying, he went away sorrowful; for he was one that had great possessions.
Several things are present in this passage of scripture. The question! What good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life? The answer! If you would enter into life, keep the commandments! Also you in this passage see a different name used for the Savior, other then what you may have been taught and come to believe in. Perhaps you a familiar with the following passage taken from the book of Acts.
And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12
Now just what name are we talking about here? You have been taught the name of J-sus was the only name given, correct? Well I have some good news and I have some bad news for you! The correct name that the Savior was given and J-sus was not that name! Let's learn from the scriptures just exactly what that name was! Ok?
And she shall bring forth a son; and you shall call his name Yahshua; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21
You can go to any good center reference Bible and see that the Hebrew form of the name J-sus is Joshua. Now, that also is not exactly correct as we shall soon see. The letter j is not found in the Hebrew or Aramaic language. Yes, Yahshua was the King of the Jews and Salvation is of the Jews! John 4:22
And they set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS YAHSHUA THE KING OF THE JEWS. Matthew 27:37
You worship that which you know not: we worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews. John 4:22
The savior of mankind would of necessity have a Hebrew name, being a Jew, he would not have a Greek name i.e. J-sus!
In the Old Testament we find many clues as what the Savior will be called! You will find one such clue in Exodus 15:2
Yah is my strength and song, And he has become my salvation: This is my El and I will praise him; My father's Elohim (pronounced El Oh heem), and I will exalt him.
Notice the term, my salvation. This in the proper translation (or transliteration) is Yahshua! The Hebrew word for this is; (Definitions taken from Strong's Exhaustive Concordance.)

Below is Yahshua's name as it appears in the correct form in the Hebrew language!

The Hebrew is read from right to left. The vowels are usually directly underneath or above each letter. However, you must also know about the matres lectionis which means vowel letters. These letters when used in the Hebrew text do not need vowels underneath them to be pronounced. You also need to be aware of another Hebrew grammatical necessity and that is the use of a diphthong when two vowel letters appear together within a word.
DEFINITION:
diph·thong (dĭf'thông',
-thŏng', dĭp'-)
n.
A complex speech sound or glide that begins with one vowel and gradually changes to another vowel within the same syllable, as (oi) in boil or (ī) in fine.
[Middle English diptonge, from Old French diptongue, from Late Latin diphthongus, from Greek diphthongos : di-, two; see di–1 + phthongos, sound.]
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
In phonetics, a diphthong is a vowel combination usually involving a quick but smooth movement from one vowel to another, often interpreted by listeners as a single vowel sound or phoneme. While "pure" vowels, or monophthongs, are said to have one target tongue position, diphthongs have a moving tongue. Pure vowels are represented in phonetic script by one symbol: English "seem" as [si:m], for example. Diphthongs are represented by two symbols, for example English "same" as [seim], where the two vowel symbols are intended to represent approximately the beginning and ending tongue positions.
Diphthongs in English:
[au] as in house
[ai] as in kite
[ei] as in same
[@u] as in hope
[oi] as in join.
Notice the term quick smooth movement from one vowel to another. In the Savior's name you will see starting from right to left, first the yothe which equals a Y when transliterated into the English language. This is followed by a heh which equals a H. Next you see the waw which is silent because it follows the heh which is a vowel letter. The wau a vowel letter( pronounced wow) in this position becomes a diphthong here! The next Hebrew is the shin ( pronounced sheen) which transliterates into a Sh sound in the English language. The final letter is ayin. This letter comes across with the ah sound in this application. The ayin is one of the laryngeals in the Hebrew language. So! Now you have the name Yahshua in the correct transliterated form.
Many, Many grammarians make this mistake and translate the name as Yahoshua, Yeshua, or just Joshua. The mechanics of Hebrew must be understood when you translate this language into English. Notice once again the above definitions for the term diphthong. Look at the word join (joyn) for example. You do not say joy in, even though it comes across as such. No! The o sound is coupled with the i and come across together for the complete word, join.
So, now you see the heh and wau come together as the oi in join or the oi in boil. I recently came across a article written by someone that is evidently unaware of this grammatical standard found in the Hebrew language. The writer asserts the following among other things. I will not mention his name because when he criticized those who use the correct form, Yahshua, he had the decency to omit the names of those he castigated as being ignorant.
The proponents of the Yahshua form claim that the Messiah’s name was the same as Joshua’s, written [vwhy or [wvwhy (Strong’s #3091). The only problem is that neither of these Hebrew spellings of Joshua’s name can possibly be pronounced "Yahshua." The third letter in Joshua’s name (reading from right to left) is the letter vav (w) and a vav cannot be silent. The letter vav must be pronounced as either a "v" or an "o" or an "u." (In the case of Joshua, it takes an "o" sound, giving us "Ye-ho-SHU-a." Strong’s confirms this pronunciation.) For a name to be pronounced "Yahshua," it would have to be spelled [wv--hy, and no such name exists anywhere in the Hebrew Bible.
So, just what is wrong with the preceding explanation? For one, the use of a v for the wau sound. This goes back into the Ashkenazi rendering. They would use YHVH instead of the correct YHWH form for the Tetragrammaton. The v sound in the Hebrew would be signified by the transliteration of the beth or b letter. This letter comes across as a v sound in the soft or un-dageshed form or a hard b sound when the dagesh forte is used in the bosom. The dagesh is a dot that is placed in the bosom of the letter to aid in the correct pronunciation where the beth letter (or any other letter that can take dagesh) is used. The Ashkenazi form of the Hebrew language is a newer form of the Hebrew language and is not applicable for translation purposes where the Biblical language is concerned!
This man clearly reveals his ignorance where the mechanics or rules of the Hebrew language are concerned. He completely ignores the necessity for the use of the rules of diphthong in Yahshua's name. I would suggest that anyone who attempts to translate any language into another language ( regardless of what language you translate) should first learn the mechanics of that language!
Let's get back to the Holy Word of the Most High, Yahweh for our answers. Observe the following passage from Psalms 91:14-16
Because he has set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him:
I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble: I will deliver him, and honor him.
With long life will I satisfy him,
And show him my salvation.
Notice the terminology used here. Because he has known my name! Remember the passage we opened this part 10 with? What is his name and what is his son's name? You cannot call on someone if you don't know their name, can you? Also notice the terms, and show him my salvation! What does that mean to you? It means that he will show you Yahshua if these words are correctly brought across into the English language.
This will end part 10 in the series Looking For Truth? I will continue this in the next part. Stay tuned!
Yours in Messiah, Hawke
