Should we be avoiding all science? Or should we be avoiding false science? Opposing theories consist of any science that is in opposition to Creationism. Did Almighty Yahweh create the heavens and the earth? I would like to show you and example of his greatness!

Yahweh, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth, who has set your glory above the heavens!
From the lips of babes and infants you have established strength, because of your adversaries, that you might silence the enemy and the avenger.
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;
what is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him?
For you have made him a little lower than Elohim, and crowned him with glory and honor.
You make him ruler over the works of your hands. You have put all things under his feet:
All sheep and oxen, yes, and the animals of the field,
The birds of the sky, the fish of the sea, and whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

The discovery of ocean currents in the 1850's by a man named Matthew Maury only confirmed what King David was inspired to write approximately 2800 years ago. Let's read about this Bible believing man!

Matthew Maury

His faith in the Bible led him to some great scientific discoveries.
American naval officer and oceanographer Matthew Maury (1806-1873) was a Ch--stian who loved reading his Bible. He also had no doubts about its accuracy. And these facts led him to some remarkable discoveries in science.

Maury entered the US Navy in 1825, but an accident in 1839 partially disabled him, so he left active sea duty. Three years later, still with the Navy, he was appointed superintendent of the US Naval Observatory in Washington, and also of the US Depot of Charts and Instruments.

Over the next 19 years Maury devoted himself to studying the winds, clouds, weather, and ocean features ... as well as the Bible. In his Bible studies, the words of Psalm 8 stuck in his mind: ‘ ... whatever passes through the paths of the seas’. Maury determined that if G-d’s Word said there were ‘paths’ in the seas, then there must be paths. So he set out to find them.

He studied old ships’ logs. From these he compiled charts of ocean-wind and sea currents. To study the speed and direction of the ocean currents Maury set adrift weighted bottles known as ‘drift bottles’. These floated slightly below the surface of the water, and thus were not affected by wind. Instructions were sealed in each bottle directing anyone who found one washed ashore to return it. From the location and date on which the bottles were found, Maury was able to develop his charts of the ocean currents—the ‘paths’ of the seas—which greatly aided the science of marine navigation.

In 1855, Maury wrote the first textbook on modern oceanography,

The Physical Geography of the Sea and Its Meteorology. In this work, Maury presented oceanography from a delightfully Ch--stian view. He included Biblical passages of meteorological and other scientific importance, such as the Scripture quote from the book of Job (28:25) which refers to G-d’s making ‘the weight for the winds’. He explained the Biblical statement this way:

‘. . though the fact that the air has weight is here so distantly announced [in Job], philosophers never recognized the fact until within comparatively a recent period, and then it was proclaimed by them as a great discovery. Nevertheless, the fact was set forth as distinctly in the book of nature as it is in the book of revelation; for the infant, in availing itself of atmospherical pressure to draw milk from its mother’s breast, unconsciously proclaimed it.’

Maury subsequently prepared charts of the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean between the United States and Europe, which showed the practicability of laying undersea cables. Maury died in 1873. He was elected to the Hall of Fame for Great Americans. A monument erected in his honor on Monument Avenue, Richmond, Virginia, reads: ‘Matthew Fontaine Maury, Pathfinder of the Seas, the genius who first snatched from the oceans and atmosphere the secret of their laws. His inspiration, Holy Writ, Psalm 8:8; Ecclesiastes 1:6.’

Truly a remarkable accomplishment! This accomplishment would not have been possible without the superior knowledge of the Heavenly Father. Yahweh created the paths−highways of the sea! If Matthew Maury did not believe what Father Yahweh had written...?

Should all science be discarded? No, because science when properly used proves the authenticity of the Bible.

The king spoke to Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring in [certain] of the children of Yisra'el, even of the seed royal and of the nobles;
youths in whom was no blemish, but well-favored, and skillful in all wisdom, and endowed with knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability to stand in the king's palace; and that he should teach them the learning and the language of the Kasdim. Daniel 1:3-4

These children of Israeli lineage, were very knowledgeable and skilled. Daniel becomes the key figure in this book. His knowledge and skills were legendary in his era.

Science confirms the authenticity of Yahweh's word at every turn. The following are but some of the comparisons.

Job 38:16 "Have you entered into the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in the recesses of the deep	Scientific exploration has revealed via deep sea cameras, and photography, vents that emit water exist on the ocean floors.
Job 26:7 He stretches out the north over empty space, and hangs the earth on nothing.	Science says that earth floats in space. At one time they did say, earth was either on the back of a man or animal. (Remember the depictions of Atlas with the earth on his shoulders?)
Ecclesiastes 1:7 All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full. To the place where the rivers flow, there they flow again.	Science did not understand the water cycle until the 17th century. Discoveries by Perrault, Mariotte, Haley and others proved this cycle.
Ecclesiastes 11:3 If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves on the earth; and if a tree falls toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falls, there shall it be. Amos 9:6 It is he who builds his chambers in the heavens, and has founded his vault on the earth; he who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the surface of the earth; Yahweh is his name. Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that makes atonement by reason of the life.	Until recently Science did not understand this! As late as 120 years ago "blood letting" was still practiced, causing death in many cases. Science now knows that blood carries water and nourishment to every cell in the human body. Blood maintains the temperature of the blood and also carries out the waste from the body.
Psalm 8:8 The birds of the sky, the fish of the sea, and whatever passes through the paths of the seas.	Because of Matthew Maury's work, science now knows about the paths (ocean currents) of the seas.
Leviticus 15:11 "Whoever he who has the discharge touches, without having rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening."	Science, due to the work of Joseph Lister, now has knowledge of bacteria. Because he insisted on Doctor's washing their hands before seeing patients and prior to surgery, countless lives have been saved.
1Corinthians 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.	Science through the capabilities of long range telescopes now confirm the stars variations amongst each other. Each star is different.

In reproduction of the species, man and woman compliment each another in the reproductive process. Animals also have this same inherent ability. Is this the product of chemical soup? The so-called "Big Bang?"

How can earth just be suspended in space? What about all of the other planets? Is there order? Consider what we learned in Physics. The design and structure of the atom. The simplest is of course the Hydrogen Atom. It contains one proton and one orbiting electron. Other more complex atoms such as the Copper Atom contains a nucleus with 29 protons positively charged and 29 orbiting electrons negatively charged. These electrons travel in specific well-defined orbits. This also holds true for every atom. Is there order in the atom? What about the Electron Shells? What about the exact number of electrons each can hold? What about the outer Valence Shell? What is the purpose of the Valence Shell−Ring? Do you even suppose for one minute that all of the order contained in these atomic structures are random? Do you think this is not Creator designed?

What about man's inherent desire to create? Man is born with certain instincts. Why do humans want to draw? Create music? Build things? Man creativity is Yahweh given. We are created in His image, His reflection! This can only come by design. We are created user friendly. We want to create! Evolution would not have this desire−concept at all.
